In the face of serious opposition to its expansion proposal, Marlborough’s King Salmon is asking the community to help design its planned new farms.

King Salmon is seeking to build nine new salmon farms in the Marlborough Sounds to meet burgeoning global demand, but has been met with stiff opposition from its would-be neighbours, as it goes through the resource consent process.

Now King Salmon is asking locals to help design its new marine farms – and it wants people with ideas on colours, aesthetics and how to run public tours to the farms to raise their hands.

King Salmon chief executive Grant Rosewarne says his company is an integral part of the Marlborough community so asked for its input.
