True heroes generally shy away from the glare of publicity. But once a year the New Zealander of the Year Awards seek out and honour the incredible achievements of the unsung heroes of our society, recognizing the ordinary doing the extraordinary. On Thursday night one of our own was on that honor role. Emma Jones reports.
