An unprecedented opportunity to showcase New Zealand’s agbiotech capability occurs in September next year, when the world’s top international agricultural biotechnology conference takes place in Rotorua.

NZBIO, which represents New Zealand’s biotechnology industry has been announced as host of ABIC 2012, the Agricultural Biotechnology Conference.

The first ABIC conference was held in Canada in 1996.

ABIC delegates are industry leaders, researchers and scientists, investors and policy makers from around the world.

NZBIO Chair Maxine Simmons says securing ABIC hosting rights is a significant achievement which offers huge potential to advance biotech in this part of the world.
