Controversial Climate Skeptic Visits Auckland

One of the world’s most prominent, and controversial, climate change skeptics, has been in New Zealand this week. Lord Christopher Mocnkton, the 3rd Viscount of Brenchley, is here as part of a world lecture tour promoting climate change denial. Reporter Benedict Collins met Christopher Mocnkton in Auckland, and while the Viscount might not believe in global warming, it didn’t take long for the interview to heat up...

Dreadful interview. Your 'Country99' reporter Benedict Collins hasn't a clue about peer-review and it's purpose. It doesn't 'validate' the hypothesis; it is merely a process to shore up weaknesses. All science is a hypothesis until it is subsequently disproved later. You may have read recently that the author of the famous 'polar bear's dying' report -- the foundation for Al Gore -- had his paper peer reviewed by his co-author's wife(!).

Your reporter also apparently is not aware at all of the politics in climate science, wherein a small cabal of scientists rub each other's backs and the same group peer review's each other's papers. See Climategate, wherein Trenberth declares that he will work change the definition of peer review in order to keep out dissenting views. And, where the muscle of this small group was enough to get a journal editor fired for having the temerity to publish findings contrary to dogma.

Monckton doesn't need to be peer-reviewed. If you disagree with any of his statements, show proof otherwise. (And Monckton has issued a lengthy video series on YouTube with a very spirited defense and clarification against Prof. John Abraham's attacks.

Benedict Collins reminds me why I left journalism many years ago.

Really disappointed, regardless of the mans opinions that was not a fair trial, I thought journalists weren't supposed to have an opinion?
I couldn't even understand the story because Benedict keep cutting him off and the attitude showed he had a specific agenda.

John campbell vs. the moon man much?
