A poll of more than 7000 farmers’ market fans has discovered the best market in the land.
The Otago Farmers Market has been voted New Zealand’s number one in a Taste Magazine survey.
The manager of the Otago Farmers Market Trust, John More, says that Otago’s market adheres to the true ideals of a farmers market – fresh, locally grown, produce at a reasonable price.
Mr More says there is a common perception that farmers markets are only accessible to the wealthy and well heeled but that this is definitely not the case in Dunedin.
The Otago Farmers Market insists that vendors grow and sell only their own products and produce.
