As the volunteer led operations in Christchurch scale down, the city council is preparing to take over the suburban clean up.

The largest volunteer organisation, set up by Federated Farmers and dubbed the “farmy army”, is reducing its operations as the city council gets things under control.

As Scott Milligan reports, those who volunteered their time and equipment in the clean up are from all walks of life.
