Watch out cannabis growers, the Feds are out to get you.

Federated Farmers is asking its members to assist the police in combating cannabis cultivation.

In the first outcome of the recent Police-Federated Farmers Letter of Agreement the Feds are out to let cannabis growers they are not welcome.

‘They are like invasive noxious weeds, and with any weed, you really need to stamp them out early’ says Federated Farmers President, Bruce Wills.

Mr Wills says it is well-known cannabis growers focus their attention on back country areas and plant amongst crops like maize.

“We are under no illusion that cannabis growers are selfish criminals who have no scruples over whose land they use or damage’ he said

Mr Wills says the Feds suspect the criminal element associated with cannabis growers are connected to rustling and the black market meat trade.

He says Federated Farmers knows some farmers are intimidated but he encourages farmers to report all suspicious activity as soon as they can.
