Christen Hayde on Tandarra Sweet As In Super League Lead

Hayde-2898-2This year’s National Three day event held at Puhinui over the weekend was a show stopper.

Sunday saw the crowds pour into watch a nail biting finish to the event with Christen Hayde and Tandarra Sweet As producing the only clear show jumping and winning the highly sought after 3 star First Place.

This win makes it two  in a row following Hayde’s victory at the last National one-day event at Richfield’s a fortnight earlier, and puts the pair into the lead of the Bell Tea Super League. Jock Paget charged into second on Frances Stead’s Clifton Airtight.

louisa HillAcross the ditch Dressage diva, Louisa Hill is showing our neighbors she’s still a threat. Riding her ten-year old gelding Bates Antonello, the Athens Olympian finished on the podium in her latest Aussie campaign, with a polished second at the Saddleworld Dressage Festival in Werribee.

Louisa also got a third in the FEI Pacific League World Cup final, late Saturday night.
The popular combination is putting the pressure on Australia’s top dressage contenders, placing no lower than third during their two-month Aussie campaign.

And in the show jumping world Kate McVean is proving she still has what it takes.

The 25-year-old Olympian from Mystery Creek soared through this weekend’s National Young Horse Jumping Championship Show in Dannevirke, with placing’s for her young Delphi protégés.

McVean won on Dunstan Springfield, was second on Dunstan Delilah and fourth on Dunstan Kiwi Iron Mark.
