Sold out weeks in advance, New Zealand’s first ever biological farming conference took place in Rotorua last week, bringing together delegates from all possible aspects of agribusiness. Reporter Drew Chappell was there.
I was pleased to see the interest in biological farming , I have in the past practiced the principles related to biological farming on two dairy farms , concentrating on grass productivity, To get the maximum out of the biological process , the farming practices have to be modified ,- a good grazing method is a must , where the grass is grazed at a stage that encourages the rapid regrowth and general thickening of the sward , and the grass has a good supply of nutrients that give the cows a balanced diet . Put all of these factors together the results will speak for themselves. I guarantee it .
Congratulations. We are on the way to better soil, more worms, great farming, and a better future!
