Farmers: Ask Before You Fish

Federated Farmers have restated the right of landowners to refuse access to anglers.

They note that all landowners have the right to keep out the uninvited, irrespective of whether they live in the town or country.

They note that once permission has been sought, many farmers do freely grant access for recreational hunting and fishing.

But, it’s all matter of common courtesy and respect.

While noting that selling fishing rights is against the law, the Federation says some anglers may still choose to pay for convenient access.
