Embattled dairy farmer Allan Crafar has failed in his latest bid to take back his farms from receivers KordaMentha.
Mr Crafar filed a last minute injunction before tenders on the properties closed last month, claiming they had been mismanaged since the receivers took over.
He had until the end of this week to file an amended statement of claim and pay $50,000 as security for costs, but he says he came up short.
“I can’t come up with the security for costs at this stage.
"I’m gonna have to email the court or something, I don’t even know what time [the hearing] is.
"I haven’t got any new information for them, so I don’t think it’s gonna happen, just gotta keep battling on.
"My lawyer doesn’t work for me anymore so I’ve gotta deal with it myself.”
Mr Crafar had previously hinted he was able to raise the $200m he needed to meet his debts and reclaim the farms.
