Mexico Signals Tariff Lifts For NZ Kiwifruit

Mexico plans to eliminate a 20% tariff on kiwifruit imports from New Zealand.

Agriculture Secretary Francisco May-orga says he is optimistic that could happen soon.

He expects little opposition from farmers in Mexico since there is no domestic kiwifruit production - yet.

But Mexico is scoping out farmland on the Pacific coast for possible kiwifruit production with the help of technicians from New Zealand.
