There are plenty of tired but happy dogs and their farmers recuperating around the country as the national and South Island sheep dog trials wrapped up in Gore on the weekend.

The long head event was won by North Canterbury's Neil Evans with Rose.

The short head and yard title went to Otago's Lloyd Smith with Ace, while the zig zag hunterway event was won by Stuart McNeill of Napier and Bruce.

The straight hunterway title went to southern Hawke's Bay's Jim Chaffey with Maid.
