International talks to secure a free trade deal with the United States resume Tuesday.
The eight countries involved in the Transpacific Partnership are currently trying to work out a deal that will please all parties, including the US department of Agriculture, which opposes New Zealand’s inclusion in the deal.
However, food giants in the US industry, Wal-mart and Nestle, have written a letter supporting New Zealand’s inclusion in the free trade deal.
The US New Zealand Business council says the letter is a sign the US Industry want the deal to go ahead.
