Both Wairarapa and North Canterbury farmers are welcoming official recognition that they’re now in the Government’s drought-relief zone.

Wairarapa farmer Anders Crofoot says that despite the rain over the past week,  the region remains in the grip of drought. He fears the effects of a lack of quality feed will be felt for months.

North Canterbury Federated Farmers’ President Neil Stott says local farmers are well-prepared.
