NZ Gets New Border Patrol IT System

A new $76 million Government IT project aims to use sophisticated software to police suspicious passengers and freight at our ports and airports.

Plans to build the Joint Border Management System - to be used by several Government departments policing the border  including MAF and the Food Safety Authority – will take the next four years to complete.

Almost $7 million has been allocated to "Vote Biosecurity" controlled by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
