The Bay of Plenty Rural support trust is fielding  calls from concerned farmers as the drought continues into late autumn.

Despite rain in some areas earlier in the week, many remain worried and frustrated.

Chairman of the Bay of Plenty Support Trust, Derek Spratt, says most of the calls come from landowners eager to know what measures they should be taking. The drought is considered to be  a one in 30 year event.
