Waikaia’s Special Salute To Anzac Heroes

The weekend ANZAC Day commemorations saw tens of thousands of people come together to remember the men and women who’d served overseas.

ANZAC Day is enjoying a cultural renaissance with attendance up nationwide, especially among young people.

Nowhere was this more evident than the tiny northern Southland town of Waikaia, where locals remembered the 95th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings to honour the community’s brave veterans.
