Currency Clips Wool Surge

Wool prices have continued their resurgence this week, with only the exchange rate holding them back.

The merino wool indicator jumped 44 cents at the latest Wool Services International sale, and the mid-micron indicator lifted by three cents.

Wool Services General Manager John Dawson says exchange rate excepted, the market is still robust.

“They’re big rises, and this has been happening consistently since the start of the season, so it all bodes well.

"We’re still in an upward trend, there will be a lot of wool come on the market towards December and January, but there’s a lot of people looking to buy as well.”
